I am a Movement Specialist and Licensed Massage Therapist who combines Pilates-based somatic movement with therapeutic manual therapies to support health and healing. I believe that the combination of movement and manual therapy is key to both preventative and rehabilitative care, and the balance of those elements should be determined by your unique body’s needs.

Bodywork
My approach to bodywork is centered around science-based clinical assessment and the role the nervous system plays in all aspects of movement and manual therapies.  I integrate Myofascial Release, Zero Balancing, and Therapeutic Movement to address your specific goals and concerns.  We will work together to alleviate aches and pain, release restrictions of movement, ease physical and emotional distress, and find tools that you can use to support your health and well-being.

Dance
My approach to teaching dance is informed by my fascination with the infinite nuance found in movement of the human body, and the fact that I love holding space to explore movement together.  My classes are grounded in healthy bio-mechanics and proper technique, but also create an environment where you can simply remember the freedom of moving through space.  We will emphasize breath, body awareness, intention, discovering new ideas, rediscovering old ones, and maybe most importantly, not taking ourselves too seriously.  My classes are a place where you can be you and I will support you in that process.

I am currently teaching ballet at Montclair State University and have been on faculty at Gibney Dance Center, Sarah Lawrence College, and Barnard College. I guest teach for various institutions including the Paul Taylor Dance Company, Limon Dance Company, Liz Gerring Dance Company, New York University, and George Mason University.  As the former rehearsal director of the Lucinda Childs Dance Company, I also have the great pleasure of setting and coaching the work of Lucinda Childs.
